Who We Are
Family Matters Counseling Services was founded upon the desire of the owner, Dr. Sharada Vegi, LMFT #52985, to provide mental health services to the people in our communities. The counseling center was established in 2015 and has since grown from the humble beginnings of only two counselors to over ten counselors providing a full range of services to adults and children. The center is managed by Dr. Vegi, who is also the clinical director, while Mr. Timothy Youell serves as Clinical Supervisor.
What We Do
Family Matters Counseling Services helps both adults and children cope with mental health challenges. We deliver a consistently high level of services to clients in Inland Empire. We are contracted with the Riverside University Health System, Behavioral Health (RUHS-BH), and Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP). We receive referrals from RUHS-BH’s CARES, ACT, and CAST programs. Through the ACT and CAST programs, we are able to provide foster children, who are court-dependent minors of the Riverside and San Bernardino counties, the mental health services they need. In addition, Family Matters Counseling Services is Medi-Cal certified and is committed to renewing these certifications annually.
Owner’s Bio
Dr. Sharada Vegi is a licensed clinician with considerable knowledge and experience in the provision of mental health services. As the chief executive officer and Clinical Director of Family Matters Counseling Services, she oversees all the programs and acts as the liaison to Riverside County and IEHP. She has over 25 years of experience working with children and families in the field of Mental Health and Child Welfare in various professional capacities, taking on roles such as that of a social worker, a therapist, and an administrator for group homes and foster family agencies. She also served as the wrap-around facilitator and therapeutic behavioral coach. She is an active practitioner of counseling for both children and adults and supervises a program that provides on-site guidance to counseling staff. In addition, Dr. Vegi is currently serving A Tender Love and Care Foster Family Agency as the clinical director of FFA’s mental health department.
